Guest post from CUMC member and FCA Camp coordinator, Lee Still
This is one of my favorite times of the year. It is time for the FCA East High football camp at CUMC. Each year we have been blessed to have young men come to know Jesus Christ through this weekend.
Last year, out of 65 players, 8 young men received Christ for the first time and 33 others made recommitments to follow Jesus; 63% is what I call a return on investment. This year, we are expecting 55 to 60 young men at camp, plus the coaching staff.
We use this camp to build rapport with the young men help them to make tough decisions that kids face today.
We also keep up with them and invest our time the remainder of the school year by mentoring.
Camp begins at the end of the month and we are in need of many items and volunteers.
- We need to raise $7,500 to fund camp and meals for the team throughout the season–donate to Christ Methodist Church, memo: FCA Camp
- Individual bags of chips – 240
- Bags of snack size candy bars – 20 bags
- Rice crispy bars – 240
- Fruit snacks in individual bags – 6 boxes
- Cookies – individual packs 6 – 8 boxes or cases
- Bananas, apples – 2 cases each
- Water – 400 bottles

We need help setting up the gym and goodie bags on Wednesday night, July 30.
Aside from donations, we need volunteer involvement–especially small group leaders.
You can reach me at 901-326-7181 or email me at firstname.lastname@example.org if you would like to find out more about participating in this life-altering weekend.
We very much appreciate your support as we strive to make this year as successful as it’s ever been.
