Guest post by Brad Bogue, Senior Director of Family Ministry

Christ Church’s Children’s Ministry may not be meeting in person during this time of physical distancing, but ministry has definitely not stopped! In fact, some of our biggest challenges lay ahead as we determine what reopening the nursery, preschool and elementary Sunday school and PDO may look like in the future. There is much planning and preparation to do to make that possible. That is why it’s an exciting time to announce some updates to our team.

Laura Spegal

Nursery/Preschool Director Laura Spegal

After searching for just the right person for the past eight months, we are excited to announce that Laura is joining our staff as our new Nursery/ Preschool Director. Laura will be a blessing to the families of Christ Church! Watch video introduction from Laura

Nicki Cates

Parents Day Out Director Nicki Cates

Nicki, who has been serving as interim Nursery/Preschool Director, will transition into the position of Parents Day Out Director. We feel that Nicki is just the right person to continue this valuable ministry to families!

Pam Hudsmith

After leading our Nursery, Preschool and Parents Day Out Ministries for the past five years, Pam Hudsmith will be retiring. Through Pam’s passion and vision, Christ Church’s ministry has been transformative to our young families. We all owe Pam our deep gratitude for the amazing work she has done serving the young families of Christ Church and your community.

We all continue to be grateful for the tireless work of Danny Shivers (Upper Elementary Director), Krista Wilford (Ministry Assistant), Nina McCarver (Elementary Music Director) and our amazing team of volunteers. Together we will do our God-given best to keep Christ Church’s families connected and safe throughout every season!

Sunday School

All families with preschool and elementary children receive weekly email updates that contain an at-home Sunday school lesson, as well as links to our Parent Cue app. This app provides our families with resources that help them continue talking about these lessons throughout the entire week. This will continue until we are able to reopen Children’s Ministry safely.

Sundays & Wednesdays, June 14-28
Why do I need to register my children this year?

We are entering new territory this summer by offering a virtual VBS experience. It won’t be exactly the same as other years, but will still give our kids the opportunity to play games, do crafts, worship and learn more about God.

It is all for free, but it is important to register your children by the May 31 deadline. Your registration will:

*Give you access to activities prior to them opening online so you can preview
*Allow us to email you information, including a supply list
*Open the doors for some possible VBS swag
*Make it possible for us to pray for each child attending online
