Like cold water to a thirsty soul, so is good news from a far country. (Proverbs 25:25)
Today we are joyful to pass on very good news from our partners in Zambia! The Water282 team that has been working to construct wells has recently published a new update from their work.
Over the past month, the group has been working specifically on learning how to maintain the use of the wells. Area Pump Minders are being trained to understand the process of how to fix and repair broken or damaged pumps that have been provided. This fits perfectly into one of Christ Church’s key values in serving like Jesus: sustainability. We are not called to drop in and fix problems, but to work together with our brothers and sisters in Zambia towards long-term growth. To quote their update, which can be read in its entirety here, “Sustainability is the most important part of the entire process of giving a village clean, safe drinking water. It is a long, tedious process, but training Area Pump Minders from every village is a big step towards long-term sustainability in the areas where we work.”
Christ Church, your sacrificial giving and going is making a difference every day in Zambia! Sontosroto Tembo, headman of the Tillimbike Village in the Chinunda region of Zambia, wanted to show his thankfulness to our church on behalf of his village. Check out the video below!
