On June 30, Christ Church member Robert Montague completed a remarkably successful season as the founding Executive Director of the Binghampton Development Corporation.
The BDC is the central hub of Christian community development in Binghampton, a neighborhood of which the economy and quality of living has been the focus of CUMC’s local missions engagement in our city for going on thirty years.
Under Robert’s passionate visionary leadership for the past eleven years, the BDC has developed into an effective, efficient organization. By working with the community’s ideas and aspirations and building on the assets of the neighborhood, the BDC has not only been instrumental in developing the economy, but it has also been privileged to be a part of God granting its people a greater sense of satisfaction and pride in where they call home.
We thank Robert for his service and wish him well as he begins work on the launch of the Memphis Academy of Technology as Executive Director.
Stepping into the position of Executive Director of the BDC is Noah Gray. Noah is a Christ Church member who for the past six years has served as Property Manager of the BDC.
A native of Missouri, Noah was originally drawn to Memphis through SOS, where he participated as a camper and ultimately as an intern in the SOS Academy. It was through focusing his time at the BDC during this one-year internship with SOS that Noah was introduced to the work and mission of the BDC.
Noah and his wife Emily are part of The Table community that worships in Wilson Chapel and they have led girls and boys Bible studies in their home in Binghampton for several years.
We extend our warmest congratulations to Noah. We’re excited to see how the BDC continues its work during this new era with Noah’s leadership.
Also, Noah is joined by Britney Witt, who has stepped into the new role of Office Manager. She also attends The Table, and we’re so glad to have her skills and enthusiasm for the mission of the BDC.
This Sunday, August 16, Robert will be speaking in the Cornerstone Sunday School at 9:45 and 11:00 in W/R 409-412 about completing his time at the BDC and the exciting new project that he has embarked upon.
The following Sunday, August 23, you are invited to come meet and greet Noah and Britney in the Cornerstone Sunday School class as Noah shares about the new season at the BDC. Same times and location: 9:45 and 11:00 in W/R 409-12.
