Beginning July 8, Memphis Teacher Residency is hosting a summer camp for rising first and second graders at Cornerstone Preparatory School – Lester campus in the Binghampton community. Over the summer months, many students in Memphis’ lowest-performing schools often fall behind their peers in higher-performing areas. MTRCamp provides opportunities for academic advancement and character development for these six to nine year-olds so they are more equipped for the new school year.

WE ARE NOW FULL FOR VOLUNTEERS!!! Thanks so much for stepping up!

Volunteers are also needed to help provide meals for the staff. They will be packing their own lunches through groceries that are provided (e.g., bread, lunch meat, fruit, etc.). These groceries should be delivered to the Neighborhood School (175 North Tillman Street) by 5 pm on the following dates: June 30, July 7, July 14, July 21, July 28, and August 4. Sign up to provide groceries here.

Dinner for the 25 staff every Monday and Wednesday during the duration of the camp can also be delivered to the Binghampton Development Corporation (280 Tillman Street) no later than 5:45 pm on the following dates: Mondays July 8, 15, 22, and 20; and Wednesdays July 17, 24, and 31.
