We ought always to thank God for you, brothers and sisters, and rightly so, because your faith is growing more and more, and the love all of you have for one another is increasing. —2 Thessalonians 1:3
As we celebrate Thanksgiving, we are grateful for the many volunteers who faithfully serve our church family. We’ve gathered just a few highlights to share—and we say thanks to all who serve!
Neil Hubbard and Jennifer Parris are two of 50 elementary Sunday school volunteers serving as small group leaders. These volunteers facilitate games, activities and conversations that lead kids to build a strong spiritual foundation upon which to learn and grow as God’s people.
Lori Kessler leads preschool large group singing during Sunday school. She is enthusiastic, engaging and a joy to be around!
George Ramsey and Anita Lotz have faithfully volunteered in Student Ministry for years by serving donuts and drinks on Sunday mornings and drinks and candy during Refuge (even though their kids are grown). Each week George buys drinks and restocks the fridge. We look forward to seeing George and Anita each Sunday and Wednesday and don’t know what we would do without them!
George Baird and Matthew Crosby lead a 10th grade guys D-Group, which they have served since the guys were in middle school. George and Matthew have been faithful and passionate about serving their guys, and they are a huge encouragement for our entire Student Ministry team.
Paula Hooper serves in two key positions: lead volunteer for our “front” welcome desk on Sunday mornings and head of the Funeral Guild, which extends the church’s sense of caring to families who have lost a loved one, helps facilitate funeral arrangements and serves as the face of our church to guests. As lead volunteer for our front welcome desk on Sundays, she is responsible for recruiting, scheduling and equipping front desk volunteers to answer the phone, greet people who walk by, answer questions and escort people to Sunday school classes.
Barbara Dunn is one of our Sunday volunteers at the front welcome desk. She answers the phone, greets people who walk by, answers questions and escorts people to Sunday school classes.
Gaye Swan is one of our weekday volunteers at the front welcome desk. She answers the phone, greets people entering our front door/makes sure they sign in and answers any questions the caller or person coming in may have.
