This year, Women’s Ministry has worked to build relationships with the Early Education Program (EEP)/daycare workers & staff. Read below for an upcoming service opportunity and testimonies from that partnership.

“Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.” (Ephesians 4:12, NIV)

I cannot begin to put into words how the partnership between the Women’s Ministry and the Early Education Program (EEP) has touched my heart. The EEP ladies work very hard, and it means so much to us to be recognized for our work by other Christian women. The Women’s Ministry has provided breakfast for our teachers and helped orchestrate an in-service day where God showed up and showed off! The EEP employees were moved by the prayers, testimonies and worship that day and continue to be thankful for the friendships that have blossomed because of it. The camaraderie taking place between these two programs has strengthened us as women and as a community for Christ, and we give thanks and glory to God for it all.

A Way to Give Back

After recently leaving my 15-year finance career, I wanted to get more involved at Christ Church. I was thrilled to find out that the Women’s Ministry was organizing efforts to serve the Early Education Program’s teachers and staff.  As a former working mom with children in the daycare program for the past nine years, I knew it would be a fit for me. I am excited for the chance to give back to those who have given so much to my family.

The past nine years have been an important part of my faith journey as an adult and as a Methodist. Experiencing God’s work firsthand has been a great gift to my family. I will never be able to repay the long list of talented teachers for everything that they have done for us, but I hope that my involvement in this new ministry will serve as a small token of my love and appreciation.

This & That

  • This spring, a small group of women gathered weekly with Dr. Kathy Tuberville to study biblical principles of spiritual leadership in an eight-week Bible study called Lessons in Leadership. Several Christ Church and EEP staff members participated. The group thought it would be a wonderful idea to end with a service project. Inspired by some of the needs of the EEP, the class decided to update and improve the EEP break/supply/work room.
  • Our EEP prayer ministry is underway. The Women’s Ministry has placed a prayer request box in the EEP breakroom, and prayer partners pray for the requests weekly.
  • The ministry sponsored Summer Fun Fridays twice in July to give a cool treat to the teachers.
