The first month at the East Ministry Center (EMC) was bustling with activities for all ages.

“It has been amazing to see how God is using this space for outreach in new ways,” said Pearl Holland, ministry assistant. “From karaoke to small group Bible studies, various ministry areas of the church and our members are using the EMC to have a home away from home to meet with others, study the Bible together and connect all while enjoying a great cup of local coffee.”

The Student Ministry recently hosted a Middle School Fun Night at the EMC. The night included snacks, karaoke, board games and full-sized Jenga.

“Our middle schoolers had an awesome time at the EMC last month for our Karaoke Fun Night. The space was great; it was conducive for our group,” said Middle School Director Mackay Lee. “We were able to have multiple activities taking place, while still all being together. The students had a blast!”

May’s calendar is full as well, so there’s something for everyone. “Many people worked hard to create a welcoming space,” said Pearl. “Make plans to join us and bring a friend!”

Here’s what a few participants had to say:

I see the kids having fun and learning about the scriptures.

It’s beautiful. It’s small, and I liked the teaching. People were friendly and introduced themselves. I really enjoyed it.

We go to the Saturday night Altar service [with Bro. Chris Carter at Christ Church], and this gives us an opportunity to hear from Shane.
