Guest post by Sarai Grace Stanford, Communications Fellow

Last weekend, the East High School football team gathered at Christ Church for a full weekend of scrimmages, worship, small groups and even life skills training in financial literacy and anger management. Yet beyond the activities was the most important part of the weekend — what was happening in the hearts and lives of some of these young men:

  • 9 said that God led them to truly repent of their sin and choose Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior
  • 9 said that before camp they had chosen Jesus as their Lord and Savior but now realized they needed to make changes in their lives and pursue a life with Him
  • 6 said they were chasing after Jesus Christ and living each day for Him
  • 6 said they wanted to learn more about how to live life after choosing Jesus as their Lord and Savior
  • 8 said they wanted to be involved in impacting their campus for Christ

Please be in prayer as the team prepares to head back to school. Pray that the impact of the weekend would continue into the halls at East High and flood onto the football field and beyond.

Special thanks to the countless volunteers who helped the weekend flow smoothly, from preparing and donating food to praying over these young men’s hearts.

Stay tuned for more ways to cheer on our East High Mustangs this season!
