“I’m Maxie Dunnam, and these are my perceptions” is a phrase known by many both inside and outside the walls of Christ Church. Maxie’s inspirational radio messages captivated this city in the 1990s and served as an incredible vehicle of outreach for Christ Church.
When God opens doors, our job as Christians is to pray for discretion and follow what He calls us to do. After much prayer and consideration, we are confident God is opening the door for Christ Church to be on the radio again, but in a new way.
Christ Church has partnered with WHBQ AM 560/FM 87.7 to bring two new endeavors to radio listeners. You Matter and We Believe in Memphis now air on Sundays from 11:00 a.m.-Noon. You Matter airs from 11-11:30 a.m., followed by We Believe in Memphis from 11:30 a.m.-Noon.
You Matter is a rebroadcast of Senior Pastor Shane Stanford’s sermon. We Believe in Memphis takes an honest look at the troubles of our city, but celebrates the profound goodness found here as well. Through interviews with community leaders and discussions about local issues, Shane and Maxie highlight the people and ministries who are investing in the betterment of our city.
The new endeavor we are excited to announce is You Matter Moments. These 60-second inspirational and uplifting bits of wisdom from Shane will air several times throughout the week. We ask that you join us in praying for this new opportunity as we continue to reach out to the 700,000: that Christ would be glorified and that everyone who hears these messages will believe the words as Shane says, “Remember, you matter.”
