Christ Church and CMDS are partnering together for a unique project. In addition to hosting a Christ Feeds food packaging event on September 30, we have the opportunity to help with funding to start the first functioning high school in Yida Refugee Camp in South Sudan, which serves the 10,000 plus children in YIDA.

The students at this school, The Endure High School, come from the war-torn Nuba Mountains of Sudan, just a few miles north of the refugee camp. The Memphis-based nonprofit Operation Broken Silence will bring a photo exhibit September 24-30 about life in the refugee camp and fundraising for the new school.

“Along with every Day School student, we want every Christ Church member to take time during that week to tour this powerful exhibit,” said Stephanie Powell, Director of Global Missions. “There are only 600 spots to help with the food packaging, and those participants will see the exhibit as they enter for Christ Feeds. We encourage Sunday school classes, small groups and families to come and serve together. Be sure to register now to be a part of a local event that has a global impact.”
