Dr. Joan Evans Hartman will sign copies of her new book, Amen and His Family, on Thursday, Oct. 18 from 11:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. at the Christ Church Bookstore. Hartman is the daughter of the late Dr. William S. Evans who served the Memphis Conference as pastor and district superintendent from 1931 until his retirement in 1970. He died in 1993.

Amen and His Family, Hartman’s third book, is a collection of short stories about growing up with her preacher father, who was named “Amen” by one of his grandchildren. It is divided into three sections: Breaking Bread, Gifts We Have Received and A Way with Words.

Hartman owns Hartbeat Books inRipley, Tenn., and is the author of two children’s books, Sam’s Special Cookie and Grace Finds Gold.

In addition to a wide variety of Bibles, in-depth Bible study and research materials, the Christ Church Bookstore, a ministry of Cokesbury, also features unique gift items, cards and more.
